If so, Aon’s Internal Audit Department is seeking an Audit Project Manager to join our thriving team This Audit Project Manager role is based in the Chicagoland area and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our downtown Chicago office.

What the day will look like The Audit Project Manager works as a primary point of contact between Internal Audit and various stakeholders on all matters relating to Audit and Risk Assessment/Mitigation.

They are responsible for helping Aon ensure that financial and operational practices and related controls are sufficient to support the accomplishment of company objectives.

The Audit Project Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Internal Audit associates and works closely with the Internal Audit Leadership team to communicate the status and results of Audit activities to key stakeholders.

The Audit Project Manager will:Work closely with a supervisor to identify, plan and execute complex audit and advisory projects using department’s internal audit frameworks.

Collaborate with Americas Audit Leadership to define project scope and budget, define testing procedures to address key risks, gather and analyze data to draw meaningful conclusions, assess and evaluate internal controls, and assist in solving complex issues.Direct or lead senior staff to ensure successful completion of project work and provide feedback and coaching to support ongoing professional development.

Review and approve of workpaper documentation to support the audit work performed.

Make, or assist in making, oral and written presentations to Audit Leadership and management throughout and at the conclusion of the audit on process and control deficiencies as well as recommended corrective actions Develop an initial draft of the audit report timely ensuring audit comments are clear, concise and focused on the root cause of identified issues.

Monitor the status of management corrective action plans to ensure that significant process and control issues have been remediated.

Manage, oversee and/or participate in ad-hoc projects, investigations and/or any other required activities.As a global resource, participate in audit assignments as required in any location.

Collaborate with global colleagues on department/corporate-wide initiatives and ad-hoc special projects Plan and implement departmental process improvement opportunities using technology, data analytics, and best practices.

Skills and experience that will lead to successEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or comparable business degree, with professional designations/certifications preferred.4 plus years of audit experience with a large multi-national, professional services or public accounting firm.

Solid verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and interface with management Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and understand complex situations and apply knowledge to develop appropriate solutions.

Effective organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
