Audio Operations Manager

What You Will Do

  • Deploying the staff on a daily basis as to the tasks and priorities

  • Developing Teams within the department that are trained to their specific duties

  • Establish a visible calendar of events that will affect each team so they can feel connected to the workflow each day

  • Establish best practices for each area of the audio department.

  • Manage general day to day operations within the audio department including service and maintenance of audio equipment & systems

  • Maintain a global view of inventory demands and future needs

  • Requisition parts, expendables and accessories as necessary

    Management Duties will include:

    • Liaise with department managers, and sound designers on the specification and delivery of high end live sound systems

    • Liaise with the Operations Department to provide best practice solutions for equipment scheduling and utilization on an ongoing daily basis

    • Liaise with our Director of Technology to assist on all new equipment system builds and associated timelines

    • Develop a thorough knowledge of R2 our inventory program; you would be keeping accurate entries on all new items, removed items, and the internal pricing. This would also include an overall streamlining of nomenclature and product identification.

What You Will Need

  • A love of high powered, sophisticated audio systems is essential to the success of the candidate

  • Extensive knowledge of current audio systems and network technologies

  • A minimum of 5 years in a professional audio environment

  • Experience in management and or operations within a live performance service company

  • Knowledge and familiarity with database equipment reservation systems

  • Experience supervising a teams of technicians and prep staff

  • Problem solver and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • High level of organizational skills with an ability to schedule and delegate tasks

  • Ability to read and interpret Vectorworks CAD and L’Acoustics SoundVision documents

  • MS Office general working knowledge
