Assistant Sales Manager

Position: Assistant Sales and Brand Development Manager – Retail Programs 
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Onsite)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Reporting to: Sales Manager
OVERVIEW:
The global entertainment/ media firm (action, adventure, Sci-Fi, and anime) is looking for an Assistant Sales Manager to support the development, communication and execution of retail strategies for the firm properties. 
The duties include introducing CPG products made with the firm’s intellectual property and brand to retail markets and managing licensees throughout the process. The successful candidate can demonstrate the strong project management skills to perform Finance and Business Planning, Brand and Content Management, Category Management, and Retail Sales and Marketing. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
  • Perform retail activation discussions both internally as well as externally to increase business opportunities and revenue growth of the company’s retail programs.
  • Promote the brand awareness and penetration at retail in North America.
  • Lead the development of retail pitch presentations, retail promotional summaries and retail tracking reports.
  • Collaborate with Franchise, Licensing and Product Development to develop cohesive retail programs and identify unique opportunities for retailers.
  • Participate in financial and business planning for retail programs including the 5-year strategic plans. 
  • Develop quarterly forecasts and budgets by analyzing sales forecasts by licensees.
  • Partner with key licensees to develop retail strategies and communicate retail activation plans. Compile and analyze retail sell-through information with licensees.
  • Manage the fulfillment of creative and marketing assets for retail.
  • Review and approve marketing elements from licensees to promote marketing, brand presentations and sales efforts.
  • Manage brands and content with the Franchise team to approve licensee marketing elements and provide licensee/product information.
  • Perform category management through defining category and property strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities and manage relationships of licensees.
  • Assist in organizing, pitching and selecting licensees, followed by setting up and leading licensee business reviews. Provide support during the contract and amendment process.
  • Support retail roadshows and presentations with all accurate and quality product and licensee information provided.
  • Define account promotion and marketing plans and promote licensee participation with Sales Trade/ Distributor Marketing teams.
  • Manage projects in planning for exclusive product development for selected retails.
  • Report North American retail activation updates and best practices with global regional leads.
  • Other duties requested by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•          Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail sales, marketing and/or brand management.
managing licensees and spearheading CPG retail programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•          Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Entertainment or related field or MBA degree.
•          In-depth understanding of brand/intellectual property positioning; current retail landscape, retail processes and consumer targets.
•          Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills. Proficiency in computer software programs such as Keynote, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
