The Cost Planning Assistant Manager position is to ensure that parts cost are negotiated to the best cost possible to support Honda profits and support customers and dealers with affordably priced genuine Honda parts.
This position is responsible to develop / manage supplier relationships to ensure fair cost negotiations are achieved.
This includes a detail data collection and analysis of supplier costs across industry, commodity, process, tooling, SGAP, etc.
The assistant manager position is also responsible to ensure department targets are met and supporting the Cost Planning team in the following areas: Service Part Cost Negotiation (cost avoidance and cost reduction) Buildout (ensuring production of non-current parts) New Model Activity (ensuring initial pricing and ability to supply) Tooling & Die Maintenance Cost (tooling transfers, tools repair reviews/approvals, new tool purchases) Stressed Supplier Activity (bankruptcy, financial alerts, capacity concerns) At Honda, our associates take pride in their responsibilities.
A typical day for Cost Planning Assistant Manager will include: Lead a team of cost planning associates to ensure all cost department objectives are met (this includes detailed data collection, review, and judgement of supplier costs across industry, commodity, process, tooling, SGAP, etc.
facets associated with that cost) Manage supplier issues and cost changes on all parts.
This includes negotiating costs, finding economical, viable solutions together with suppliers, finding alternative suppliers, etc.
