The Assistant Director of Development encourages philanthropic support within the Wise Community and specifically oversees the Wise School and Aaron Milken Center (preschool) annual giving campaign, the annual Wise gala, and the temple annual campaign. Pursuing these financial goals will involve researching and soliciting new donors, working with volunteer committees to move donors to increased giving levels, creating alumni and grandparent giving categories, and working to increase participation in all campaigns.
Job Responsibilities Work closely with the Director of Development to strategically plan and implement each annual campaign, ensuring all fundraising goals for the institution are met; Manage and support the annual giving, annual campaign, and gala committees, including sending committee members regular updates and organizing and facilitating committee meetings; Help strategically plan and ensure the success of all fundraising events, especially the annual gala; Support the Wise Development department as needed with additional campaigns (capital, legacy, and endowment); Cultivate and steward donors and lay leaders; Identify potential donors and participants in fundraising committees; Work with the school team to ensure alumni goals are met; Produce in-depth donor reports for all campaigns and track donor movement across multiple years; Perform in-depth donor and community data analysis; Draft solicitation, thank you, and yahrzeit letters; Track donor information through Customer Relationship Management system; Proof Development communications and weekly emails, including honor rolls; As a key staff member in our religious educational institution, role-model the tenets of our faith on a daily basis to our members and the broader Temple community; participate in transmitting the expectations and values of our faith, playing a critical and essential role in the Temple’s ability to minister to the daily needs of our students and members; and,
· Support the Wise Development department and the greater institution as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; Two years of experience in fundraising, sales, or a related field.
Proven experience in customer service.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Problem solving abilities, trouble-shooting skills, and the ability to adapt to a variety of personalities.
Ability to quickly learn and gain proficiency in Customer Relationship Management systems.
Strong background in Excel.
Strong proofreading skills.
Acute attention to detail and very organized.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Stephen Wise Temple and Wise Schools.
Assiduous in the practice of confidentiality, tact, and discretion.
