Assessment Manager

The Opportunity

The Assessment Manager is responsible for designing and coordinating KIPP SoCal’s assessment portfolio and managing all KIPP SoCal assessment platforms (e.g Illuminate, iReady) for students in grades TK-8.

All efforts driven by the Assessment Manager will be in service of an equitable, inclusive, rigorous, and diverse learning experience for all students.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Teaching and Learning, the Assessment Manager will lead work in the following areas:

Regional Assessment Coordinator: Summative and Benchmark Assessments
Collaborates with the Teaching and Learning team to create and implement a comprehensive annual Assessment Strategic Plan for KIPP Socal Creates and publishes a comprehensive Annual Assessment Calendar that includes regional and school testing windows for all state-mandated, region-wide (curriculum + benchmark) and school-specific assessments Manages the successful implementation of state-mandated assessments: SBAC Interim, Summative CAASPP (SBAC, CAST, Alternative Assessments) and PFTServes as the CDE’s “LEA CAASPP Coordinator” for all schools Creates resources and conducts training sessions for School Site CAASPP coordinatorsInternalizes and summarizes state-hosted CAASPP trainings, guides and updates, and disseminates relevant information to School Site CAASPP Coordinators on a regular/timely basis Ensures testing security by managing School Site Testing Protocol creation and adherenceLoads state test data into Illuminate; works with data team on analytics, reporting and progress monitoring needs in KASTLEWork with ELD Specialist, Public Programs team and Tech team when necessary, to coordinate CAASPP and ELPAC regional administration and compliance efforts Manage the selection and successful implementation of nationally normed Math and Reading/ELA benchmark tests cohesively across schools: NWEA MAP, MAP Reading Fluency, STAR, iReady Diagnostics, etc.

(including creating regional windows for each benchmark assessment) Collaborate with the Innovation Team and Data Team to integrate selected curricular software assessment systems into the overarching assessment strategic plan
Regional Assessment Coordinator: KIPP SoCal Assessments
Work closely with content specialists to incorporate curriculum assessments into the Annual Assessment Calendar Ensure that content specialists properly set up curriculum assessments in Illuminate Work with the data team on assessment analytics, reporting and progress monitoring needs in KASTLE Train and support (via the helpdesk) teachers on Illuminate assessment creation, administration and Illuminate data reports
Qualifications
