Art Director

ABOUT THE ROLE

The ideal candidate approaches design as a visual tool focused on uplifting VideoAmp’s brand values in all instances.

As Art Director, your job will be to help customers and partners understand exactly what benefits we offer, how those benefits drive real, actual, measurable value, and how our offerings work in seamless conjunction with their existing systems.

You are a champion for all things brand; you live and die by Brand Guidelines and are a highly self-motivated problem solver.

Specifically, you will be responsible for concepts, designing, and executing complex brand stories and experiences aimed at showcasing the potential power, flexibility, and potential of our full suite of managed service offerings and our custom self-service platforms.

You are an owner and believe in the importance of a cohesive brand story from all touch points and chase data to make all design decisions.

YOU ARE A(N):

  • Expert: you are an Adobe CC and Sketch App expert with exceptional website (CMS) experience and have deep understanding of the print process from concept, proofing, and execution
  • Owner: you have a proven track record and examples of end-to-end Marcomm and brand projects across both print and digital spaces
  • Data-driven: you chase value for design output and make intelligent decisions by following data
  • Problem Solver: you identify and alleviate pain points without being asked; you are vigilant and are keen to continuously push for high efficiency 
  • Producer: you continue to build upon our brand resources and template libraries at high frequency and volume
  • Strategic: you gather and monitor internal and external feedback to make sure the team is making the most effective decisions that will yield the best results
  • Meticulous: you have samples of deep brand guideline and design systems creation
  • Collaborative: you have worked directly with Marketing, Sales, and Partner teams and understand key brand value props., and plan, schedule, and adequately resource project deliverables
  • Diligent: you will report to and collaborate with the Sr.

    Brand Director to drive core brand concepts through all marketing materials and ensure the crafting of a well-honed corporate brand story with minimal supervision

  • Efficient: you have worked in an accelerated startup environment and do not shy away from shifting priorities
  • Big-picture thinker: you will help manage design support for (and strategic design value of) trade show and other event activity from promotion campaigns leading up to the events, support during, and follow-through on post-event materials
  • Flexible: you have an exceptional ability to adapt and react quickly to changing conditions, requirements & deadlines and showcase the flexibility and deep understanding of how tech companies work
  • Goal-oriented: when working directly with our Product Management and Program Management teams to ensure Design support for all Marketing and Sales materials are adequately measured and in-line with expected KPI’s
  • Digital campaign pro: you have a proven record of successful digital marcomms campaigns built with either Marketo or Pardot
  • Brand-evangelist: you have strong customer service skills and proven experience effectively interacting with a diverse team of people and promoting brand across the entire organization
  • Proactive: you are curious, highly organized, and initiate tasks that have measurable value 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree required and 10+ years of professional experience leading design-focused teams with Marcomm responsibilities
  • An expert understanding of design fundamentals, best practices, components of brand expression and production processes
  • Excellent track record working in an agile environment adhering to formal sprints working in a startup environment
  • Experience producing project documentation of art and finish specifications, materials specifications, and design administration
  • Comfortable working with project management to ensure schedules, deliverables, and fiscal accountability
  • Proven experience managing a range of vendors
    – from creative to event planning and proofing for final production
  • Proven CMS experience in website building: WordPress
  • Digital prototyping skills a must; InVision or MarvelApp experience required
  • Experience with a variety of digital, print and environmental executions as it relates to brand
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills, highly detail-oriented
  • Thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment with design, account, strategy and technology teams
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects ranging in size and scope simultaneously
  • Ability to work on-site in an open-plan office environment
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Prior experience in the advertising business and/or data/television/video industry a significant plus
  • Experience with JIRA a significant plus with and added bonus if you are an agile environment veteran (you adhere to sprints and can self manage your formal tickets)
  • Understanding of Salesforce integrated marketing tools (ie: Pardot/Marketo, Unbounce, Knak.io, etc.) a big plus
  • Leadership experience a huge plus (you have led workshops and have experience with formal corporate presentation/training, etc.)
  • Video/animation samples a huge plus

Today the industry standard tools are usually designed where connectivity and applications of consumer data sets often come with negative trade off for consumer privacy or security risks of leaking private data.

– a world where consumer privacy, security, and governance are incorporated into the fabric of the codebase that interfaces with these systems to enable the necessary business use-cases that keep these viewing experiences free or affordable to everyone.
