Position Description and Performance Expectations:
The Area Manager is responsible for orchestrating all activities and assumes complete accountability for multiple corporate dining locations in an assigned area. Ensures consistency, efficiency, and productivity while accelerating business plans. Is responsible for hiring, training and development, financial management and profitability, building community relations, and all reporting. Ensures there is a high standard of service and a culture of coaching and teaching. Develops leaders through strong communication and influence.
This position requires excellent time management skills, the ability to continually train and lead the team, and a strong financial acumen (to include subsidy and profit and loss management).
Candidates must have leadership experience in onsite dining environments. An understanding of quality and standards, with an emphasis on guest relations, is required. Previous multi-unit management experience required. Must have leadership experience executing high volume, complex catering offerings and large-scale special events. Actively discovering new trends in food and events and connected to the culinary community.
The Area Manager is the representative of Guckenheimer to the clients of individual business units of an assigned area. The Area Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of their areas individual business units. This will be accomplished by utilizing Guckenheimer guidelines, standards, and policies.
The successful candidate will be accomplished in the following areas:
Finance:
- Have strong financial acumen.
- Meet client subsidy / Company goals for area.
- Maintain ROCA (Return on Controllable Assets) and inventory level goal.
Communications:

- Plan and execute high volume, complex catering offerings and large-scale events to client expectations.
- Maintain excellent food quality standards throughout area.
- Compliance with purchasing guidelines.
- Contribute to, Lead, and Support your team with a hands-on approach to our operations.
- Develop and maintain merchandising and décor in units throughout area
- Coaching and leadership with peers, individuals, and teams
- Create a culture of food and workplace safety, following all safety rules and actively prevent accidents.
- Demonstrate good judgement and decision-making skills
- Comply with all ServSafe and HACCP programs and principles.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years leadership as a multi-unit Foodservice/ Corporate Dining/ Hospitality Operations Manager.
- Successfully planning and executing high volume, complex catering offerings and large-scale special events.
- Knowledge and implementation of new trends in food and events; connections to the culinary community.
- Managing complex Foodservice/ Corporate Dining/ Hospitality operations with direct P&L and growth accountability.
- Proven track record of leadership: building, managing, and leading a large hospitality and culinary team of hourly and salaried members.
- Passion for hospitality, innovation, and creative experiences
- Positive attitude and dependable under pressure – an excellent role model, motivator, and leader.
- Proven ability to maximize budget, enhance user experience and creativity across all channels in alignment with business strategy
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
- ServSafe Certified or ability to become ServSafe Certified immediately after hire
- Use a computer keyboard and computer programs for inputting and organizing data and menus.
- Computer and typing skills: experience with Microsoft Office and Google programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
FLSA Status: Salary Exempt

Reports to: Regional Director
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Employee must be able to:
- Lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Work on their feet 8 hours per day excluding breaks.
- Work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
- Use a computer keyboard for up to 4 hours continuously.
