Albertsons Companies: Senior Manager Leaves Administration

The Leave of Absence (LOA) Senior Manager leads a team of leave administrators who coordinates all cases/claims that include general administration; provides comprehensive case management and program compliance.

Actively identify and lead/work opportunities to streamline and improve the way in which LOA services are delivered to the 250,000 employees nationally.

The manager will serve as subject matter expert to employees and managers on leave of absence policies and processes including disability, FMLA, military, unpaid medical, California Pregnancy Disability Leave, CFRA, Paid Family Leave, Intermittent Leave etc.

In addition, the role will manage the workflow, support the Leave Administration team and manage the daily operations of the department.

This position is open to remote/virtual work and can be located in Pleasanton, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Plano, TX, Boise, ID, Philadelphia, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Boston, Los Angeles, Dallas.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Manage the daily operations of the department.Identify areas of opportunity to enhance proficiency in department processes.Train, motivate, lead and develop department staff.

Prepare performance appraisals and recommend salary grade and rate changes as appropriate.

Interview applicants and participate in the selection of employees for the department.Keeps abreast of all new state or federal regulations impacting LOA status.Maintains full knowledge of all department policies and procedures as well as changing plan guidelines to ensure accurate and effective communication with employees.Assisting with legal compliance with ERISA, FMLA, ADA, etc.Ensure timely processing and reporting of all statutory requirements and communications.Ensure compliance as it relates to Federal, State, Local, Business, and other Albertsons determined requirements.Serves as primary point of escalation to resolve employee LOA issues which may include partnering with internal and/or external service providers or departments.Conduct semi-annual self-audits of internal processes to ensure timely and compliant processing.Provide reporting and analysis of leave-based concerns for Sr Leadership including measurement of success through key-performance indicators.Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Education Level: Bachelor’s degree preferable in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field.

Experience Level:Seven or more years Leave Administration experience in a large organization.

Special emphasis in Family Medical Leave, American’s with Disability Act, compliance and administration.

Four or more years staff management of a human resources operation.

Skills and Experiences:Experience in basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Laws, Human Resource, and Benefits.

Labor Relations and union environment experience a plus.Working knowledge of leave management systems with emphasis in FMLA, ADA, and other statutory compliance.Communication skills, both oral and written, to have the appropriate level of interaction with customers interpreting policies, procedures and technical applications.High degree of initiative; proven team player, excellent customer service skills.Knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS application or similar HCM software.
