We have a great opportunity for youAir Products and Chemicals, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for an ACCOUNT MANAGER in the HyCO Americas business segment with a regional office in Newport Beach, California.Air Products and Chemicals, Inc has experienced growth in California, tapping into our expertise as the world leader in the supply of hydrogen.

We currently have multiple world class hydrogen production facilities supplying customers throughout the Bay Area and LA Basin, either directly or through an integrated pipeline system.The incumbent is accountable for optimizing hydrogen asset utilization and seeing opportunities for driving growth of the business through engagement in a long-term client and operating personnel relationships.

The successful candidate will be technically sound with the ability to balance day-to-day commercial oversight and longer-term growth/strategic planning initiatives.

Working both independently and in a team environment, you will be responsible for effective asset and account management, technical/financial analysis and business development activities aimed at achieving P& L targets.Principal Accountabilities include:Account Management: Develop and effectively lead high quality, long-term customer relationships.

Handle product supply/demand forecasts, contract compliance, invoicing data and accounts receivable.

Act as a technical interface and collaborate on issue resolution.

Develop and execute commercial strategies and opportunities.Asset Management: Collaborating closely with operations, provide technical support and commercial guidance on the overall production and transportation of hydrogen aimed at improving overall profitability.

Strong focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, cost management, and overall system optimization.Technical/Financial Analysis: Develop justifications and complete economic evaluations of projects to be executed.

Develop formal presentations and technical reports required for both internal stakeholders and external customers.Business Development: Assess potential market opportunities and understand customer’s technical/operational needs.

Proactively identify commercial prospects and take the lead to provide business development support and technical solutions.

Complete opportunity assessments, technology comparisons, and budgetary proposals.

Opportunity to negotiate and implement multi-year supply agreements.Requirements Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical field.

MBA preferred.Minimum of 5 years of prior commercial and technical experienceKnowledge of refining industry an assetStrong leadership skills with the ability to influenceSkilled in assessing market opportunities and prioritizing effortsAdept at quickly building working relationships internally and at customer sitesWill possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and is capable of independent learningAbility to demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detailStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)Able to travel to customer offices/sites and Air Products offices within the USWe believe to be successful in this role the incumbent should have the passion to be the best in the industry while acting with accountability to obtain results.
