We are proud of our collaborative, creative colleagues and encourage an inclusive workplace culture that maximizes individual contributions.AIP Publishing is seeking a Manager of Application Development who will be responsible for managing a technical team responsible for the technical quality and delivery of software solutions.Position:Mentor and collaborate with the technical team to create high-level architectural specifications and address problems of systems integration and compatibility using leading-edge technologies, patterns, and practicesCreate road maps that translate business requirements into technology solutionsManage and lead a group of developers to ensure adherence to quality standards and reviews enterprise architecture deliverablesCreate architectural approach for software design and implementation as well as to guide project development resources internal and externalDevelop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility that are focused on future proofing for flexibility, scalability, and extensibilityEnsure software meets all requirements of quality and security.

Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging developments and trends in technology that could impact current projects and influence new projectsVendor / Tool Analysis: Lead the evaluation of software vendors targeted for possible integration into the systems or environment, including strategic applications, tools and utilitiesQualifications:A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics; advanced degree is preferred5-8 years of related experience including Project Management, Business/Systems Analysis or SupervisionExperience in Scientific, Technical, and Medical (STM) publishing a plus.Minimum of 8 years of software development with emphasis on the web (C#, MVC, ASP.NET, WCF, Type Script, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS)Should possess a sound technical knowledge of the various current technologies such as .NET, Java, Development Frameworks such as Knockout and Bootstrap, Open Source Tools, MS SQL, Services Messaging (such as MQ, MSMQ, Kafka, Rabbit MQ)Minimum 1 year experience managing resources or leading development teams5-8 years’ experience leading application solution design efforts5 years’ experience contributing as a direct resource or managing others on enterprise software deploymentsUnderstanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)Knowledge of UML and other modeling methodsExpertise and experience in lightweight, rapid development, agile methodologiesRequires occasional 24×7 on-call availabilityMust reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, or Washington, DC.
