Acorn Forestry: Senior Heavy Equipment Manager

Senior Heavy Equipment Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct the maintenance of all company owned, and leased equipment.Manager will oversee mechanics, welders and administrative staff to efficiently and effectively maintain a fleet of approximately 70 pieces of equipment and trucks.

Manager will work in coordination with the company operations manager to set priorities for the availability of equipment.Manager will help develop and maintain a company asset life cycle plan for all fleet equipment.Manager should expect a challenging but rewarding career working with a fast paced, multifaceted company.RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor and track equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, by type and use Implement and oversee preventative maintenance schedules and repair records Determine if repairs are handled in house or by a third party Supervise on-site and field maintenance personnel Enforce a clean, safe working environment Lead, educate and develop shop technicians Hold all personnel accountable for completing work within the established time and quality expectations Work always with a sense of urgency Provide clear and precise instructions in written, verbal, and scheduled formQUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will have a highly developed mechanical background with extensive knowledge of various engines, heavy construction / land clearing equipment and strong management skills with a high level of attention to detail and organization.

At least 5 years experience in mechanics on electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems and a strong knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of heavy construction equipment Be proficient with computers including but not limited to: Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environmentBENEFITS Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid vacation Paid holidays 401(k) matching
