Job Purpose:Maintains a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures; supervising the security guard force.Duties: Determines and communicates security policies and procedures by studying organization operations and executive schedules; establishing internal controls; conducting inspections; preparing and updating a security manual; conducting training sessions.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal regulations by studying existing and new requirements; anticipating future requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; coordinating and cooperating with government agencies and representatives; advising management on needed actions.
Secures facilities, equipment, assets, and personnel by laying out observation and warning systems; reviewing activities logs; completing personnel security clearances.
Completes investigations by gathering evidence; conducting interviews; collecting documents; coordinating with law enforcement personnel; presenting evidence at hearings and trials.
Resolves emergency situations by directing actions on location; coordinating with management, public relations, government, and first-aid personnel.
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Completes security operations requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintains security staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains security staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Achieves financial objectives by preparing the security budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Prepares security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
