A Place Called Home has a great opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Manager of Development Operations to utilize their skillset and implement creative ways to support the mission and vision of the organization while making a difference in the community.

ABOUT USA Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth and community center in South Central Los Angeles.

APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities.

As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them.

Our goal is to increase the likelihood that youth will stay in school, pursue higher education, attain viable jobs, and become active community members capable of making positive change in the world in which they live.Our mission is to serve youth and families directly and the optimal way to do that is in person.

The majority of our positions require employees to work onsite at our facilities.

Our priorities and policies to protect the safety and health of our staff and members may require special protocols on our campus and/or may require us to work remotely on a temporary basis.

This is a hybrid role that combines in-person work at the APCH Center with remote work.

While APCH is pleased to offer flexible scheduling, our expectation is that the individual in this role will be fully present during regular business hours even when working remotely, participatory in special evening and weekend engagements and on-site at our vibrant campus as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Assistant Manager will perform the following duties and meet the following expectations:Development Operations, Gift Management and Database Administration:Oversees APCH’s donation processing procedures and protocols to ensure fidelity across department and organization; Processes all monetary donor and donation information and related documents accurately and in a timely fashion in accordance with department procedures; Serves as Salesforce administrator, ensuring database accuracy and performing ongoing maintenance of campaigns and donor/donation records on a contemporaneous basis; creates and maintains accurate dashboards and data reports; Ensures the timely acknowledgment of all gifts, in coordination with the Development Coordinator and Associate Director; Manages and generates accurate mailing lists for development events, appeals and other solicitations; Producesaccurate financial and gift reports from Salesforce; administers gift acceptance, batching and monthly revenue reconciliations with Accounting; Manages and produces all board, funder and internal reports from Salesforce with absolute accuracy; maintains a calendar ofreporting deadlines and serves as project manager on all cross-departmental data collection and reviewWith oversight from the Associate Director, manage back office systems and procedures including mail processing, coordinating as appropriate with the agency’s Operations team; maintain complete and accurate digital and physical files for the Department; Process invoice requests and purchases on behalf of departmentProvide professional and courteous customer/donor support; direct requests to the appropriate individuals and departments, and follow up to ensure requests are fulfilledWork with Associate Director to ensure timely and appropriate donor stewardship, including but not limited to assisting with stewardship events and special recognition (e.G., garden bouquets or other gifts), in alignment with established stewardship levels and protocols; Support the all-hands production of annual APCH fundraising events; provide back office support for events including financial tracking, reporting and other tasks as required; serve as an ambassador of the agency at events; Manage department volunteers and interns as assigned; Maintaingeneral organization of department at all times; Provide periodic administrative support for the department; Other duties as assigned.QualificationsThe ideal Assistant Manager of Development Operations will be an individual who carries high personal and professional standards, is high energy by nature, and enjoys partnering with others to achieve successful outcomes.
