02 Denny’s Inc.: Franchise Operations Director

This position is responsible for providing leadership to franchisees and their operators regarding current and future restaurant development and operations that ensure brand integrity.

Assists in development of Operating Plans with franchisees and their operators to enhance the franchisees’ capabilities, maximize brand awareness, promote brand equity and grow market share.

Provides leadership and development to the Franchise Business Leaders, ensuring they achieve their accountabilities with their franchisees.Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)Acts as the primary line of communication to Franchisees and their Operators and assists Franchisees to build relationships across the brand.Teaches and coaches Franchise Business Leaders to achieve their goals.Coaches Franchisees on Denny’s Operating Systems and ensures that training tools and programs are properly executed.Promotes the Denny’s Brand by assisting in the design and implementation of the local marketing strategy and provides counsel regarding reinvestment/upgrades that maintain image.Protects the Denny’s Brand by ensuring/validating Brand Standards are executed and provides feedback/coaching as to restaurant visits.Encourages Franchisees to grow their business by adding locations and maximizing sales and guest counts in existing locations.Assists Franchisees with evaluation of their organizational structure to position the Franchisee for success and to grow their organization.Assists in the design and leadership of the Quarterly Operating Plan discussion.Prepares and manages the budget for their assigned territory.Builds interpersonal relationships across the brand and encourages their Franchise Business Leaders to do likewise.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience RequirementsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experienceMinimum 5 years’ experience as a franchise business consultant, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality or retail sector; complimentary experience in training, health and safety, human resources, or facilities a plusFood Safety Manager CertificateRequired Knowledge and SkillsAbility to handle high stress situations.Strong organizational skills with excellent oral (including public speaking) and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet skills.Communicates effectively in the English language.Ability to coach and motivate others to achieve area and corporate goals.Strong problem solving skills and the ability to partner with others to achieve results/resolution.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence.Places a value on diversity and shows respect for others.Excellent financial and business acumen with a history of running profitable areas of responsibility.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail.Ability to work weekends, holidays, days and evenings.Licensed to operate an automobile without hours of operations restrictions.Must meet any state, county or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling.Ability to work around potentially hazardous chemicals.Must be able to work with all Denny’s menu products.The ability to drive, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.Ability to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas.The ability to drive, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.Ability to travel frequently (up to 90%), including overnight stays and airline travel when applicable. Denny’s, Inc. is committed to providing equal employment opportunity for all persons regardless of age, race, creed, color, national origin, citizenship status, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, genetic information, military or veteran’s status, criminal background, or any other characteristic protected by Federal, State, or local law.ÂApplicants requiring reasonable accommodation for any part of the application process should contact 864-597-8000.
