Accent Controls, Inc.

(ACI) is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Truck Driver, Medium, supporting the Logistics Readiness Center, located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan SUMMARY: The truck driver will drive a straight truck, between 1 1/2 to 4 tons, usually 6 wheels, or smaller, to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers’ places of business.

This driver will also load or unload truck with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep truck in good working order.

May require use of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to generate/close out local delivery manifests.

Adheres to audit readiness requirements and associated contract requirements.

PRIMARY RESPOSIBILITES: Transport goods and materials Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area / process.

Understand and use the Government provided Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.

Responsive communication to the Inventory, Customer Service, and Quality Control teams regarding any system discrepancies that cannot be resolved.

Maintain a safe and secure work environment to include vehicle safety and security measures.

Responsible for understanding installation and local delivery and transportation routing plan.

Plan routes and meet delivery schedules Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as with company policies and procedures Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading position Collect and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents, or violations Qualifications: U.S.

citizen or proof of legal residency Possess a valid Driver’s License and applicable CDL (Heavy and Medium Rating) Possess a valid DOT Hazmat Endorsement Meets U.S.

DOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) company registration requirements.

Must be able to pass an extensive Government background check.

Pass substance abuse screening on initial hire and during random drug checks throughout the year.

Must be able to work under deadlines, stressful conditions, and be physically able to do the job that is required.

Excellent communication skills are required.

Must be a team player, but also will be required to work independently.

Required Credential/Licensures: Proven work experience as a truck driver Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.) Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations Education: Must possess a high-school diploma or GED.

Must have the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Must be able to comprehend what they read and put that knowledge on paper.

Must be verbally adept to communicate with co-workers, Government customers, and management.

Must be able to communicate with outside carriers when they bring or take material from the warehouse.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license.

Must possess a valid Chauffeur license.

MISCELLANEOUS / OTHER: Ability to stand, squat, and have full range of motion, wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed for job duties, lift at least 50 pounds, operate a forklift in accordance with a training certification program, and see, hear and respond to dangerous situations.
