Are you ready to put your marketing, business development, engineering leadership and highway design abilities to work on marquee transportation and infrastructure design projects that will change the urban fabric of Southern California?AECOM is seeking a talented, driven and motivated engineering services marketing leader to successfully deliver design excellence for highway design projects throughout Southern California.
This Leader will be well connected with political leaders and other regional decision makers involved with LA Metro, OCTA and Caltrans to capture new project opportunities to the AECOM team.This engineering leader will be responsible for leading and mentoring a strong 50+ member design team powerhouse including Project Managers and multiple project teams.
The successful candidate will be adept with marketing and business development.
In addition, this leader will oversee planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects involving highways, surface drainage, and utilities infrastructure to lead AECOM to greater success throughout the Southern California workspace.Job Description:Responsible for both the technical practice and operational management of one large or multiple small to medium sized offices/operating units with moderate complexity.Determines and executes the strategic direction of the office(s) to ensure financial profitability.Works in conjunction with the district and/or regional management to ensure financial success of the offices within the district or operating unit.Additional Job Description/Summary:Has well established client relationships within the Transportation Industry, specific to public sector clients.Grows market share and footprint of the Surface Transportation business.Develops and maintains exceptional customer relations.Regularly attends client sponsored events serving as an ambassador for AECOM.Develops marketing plans and strategies, anticipates opportunities, and identifies market trends.Positions and maps AECOM capabilities to customer business objectives and Surface Transportation initiatives.Leads proposal preparation and presentations to potential large and complex clients.Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the business line.Works with Division Manager to achieve strategic business growth targets.Identifies, pursues, and wins profitable Surface Transportation projects.Coordinates and collaborates with other Departments within the US West Region.Directs the development of capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities.Defines and mitigates risks and commercial terms during the pursuit process.Negotiates favorable contract terms and conditions, manages achievement of cost of sales, gross margin, backlog, and other related financial and business goals.Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner.Drives the growth, strategy, and sale of AECOMs services for the Surface Transportation market within the Northern California region.Drives project performance and is responsible for the performance of a portfolio of projectsManages the Departments workload balance to optimize the utilization of staff.Implements best practices with project managers in project development and execution.Reviews and approves proposals, and works with Project Controls (PC’s) to develop healthy project setupsResponsible for data quality for portfolio of projects with help of PCsCoordinates with Business Leaders in other geographies to share resources, utilize technical strengths, ensure independent reviews of all deliverables, and identify key project opportunities as early as possibleCollaborates with peers in other geographies to provide global leadership, leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction and implement best practices.Fosters an agile organizational structure and culture to allow the Surface Transportation Business Line to deliver large complex programs as well as provide high-value expert solutions to quality clientsWorks closely with other business developments leaders, operations and local leadership as it relates to staffing, retention, employee engagement, budgets, project performance, quality, safety, business unit profitability and project technical development.Communicates project risks-opportunities to Transportation ManagementBuilds high leadership.Minimum RequirementsBA/BS + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education, including two (2) years of leadershipPreferred Qualifications15+ years of experience in Transportation Industry and established client relationships relative to Highway and Bridge design in Southern California.California PE (Professional Engineer)Business Acumen deploys world-class
