Responsibilities The Security Officer/Driver is responsible for enforcing all laws, rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department.
Enforces all authorized laws, rules and regulations.
Transports students in company vehicle.
Patrols assigned areas and remains alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violators, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
Aids and assists visitors, students and staff.
Performs building security and safety checks.
Receives complaints and makes appropriate preliminary investigations.
Provides escort service as directed.
Investigates vehicular accidents at center.
Issues visitor passes and temporary vehicle permits.
Participates in the disciplinary process as established at the center, including zero tolerance for violence and drugs.
Transport students by bus and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, etc Inspects vehicles and reports any mechanical issues to Safety, Security and Transportation Manager Maintains the cleanliness of all Center vehicles.
Transports equipment and /or commodities to the Center.
Maintains accurate and complete trip reports of each use of any vehicle.
Is cross trained and expected to assist in the welcome center for varius influx to visitors on Center.
Attends required staff training sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid State Drivers License.
Preferred: Three to six months experience in a security or work-related capacity, Class B License with passenger/air brake endorsement preferred.
Knowledge Required: Knowledge of crowd control techniques preferred.
Knowledge of law enforcement procedures preferred.
Ability to obtain a State drivers license.
Ability to obtain a bus drivers license.
Must maintain CPR/FA Certification.
Familiarity with problems of underprivileged, minority groups, especially youth.
Good writing skills.
Excellent communication skills.
All post offer candidates must complete and pass a background check and drug screen.
