Mission Development & Integration Directorate/Data Transport Engineering within the Enterprise Ground and Operations Division is seeking an experienced Project Engineer/Sr.
Project Engineer to assist Space Systems Command (SSC) in the acquisition and fielding of ground antenna network command and control, antenna development and integration, and network transport systems.
You will help transition the Space Force to a modernized, secure, and resilient Enterprise ground architecture.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and assisting acquisition, development, and integration of ground antenna network systems while providing objective input to strategies, plans, risks, and issues
- Working across the Directorate and Division to integrate evolving capabilities across systems to ensure resilient and secure command and control from satellite operations centers to hybrid antenna networks via various ground communications networks
- Assisting and advising the SSC customer utilizing systems engineering, systems development, integration and testing expertise, and analytic capability to include architecture modeling and simulation
- Participating in architectural trades and assessments for validation of technical solutions and operational concepts and to ensure functional and performance requirements and objectives can be satisfied
- Reviewing program roadmaps and strategies to identify development gaps and provide recommendations for resolution
- Participating in lifecycle readiness activities, program acquisitions, contract execution assessments, and assist with innovative acquisition strategies
What You Need to be Successful
– Project Engineer
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline
- Experience in systems engineering and integration of ground systems
- Experience working with mixed government, SETA, and FFRDC teams in systems engineering projects and tasks
- Experience with the elements and processes associated with a government system acquisition lifecycle
- Familiarity with various types of ground antenna networks and communications network transport technologies
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Willing to travel approximately 10% of the time
- This position requires Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by the US government.
U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
What You Need to be Successful
– Senior Project Engineer
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field
- Experience leading technical teams in the investigation and analysis of key ground system technologies
- Demonstrated ability to effectively assess and recommend incorporating modern ground technologies into future ground architectures
- Experience working with mixed government, SETA, and FFRDC teams in architecture, strategy, and systems engineering projects and tasks
- Experience with the elements and processes associated with a government system acquisition lifecycle
- Familiarity with various types of ground antenna networks and communications network transport technologies
- A minimum of 12 years of related experience
- Willing to travel approximately 10% of the time
- This position requires Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by the US government.
U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Advanced academic degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related engineering or scientific field
- Strong working knowledge of ground system architectures, especially antenna networks, and advanced communications network transport technologies
- Experience prototyping key ground system technologies
- Experience integrating across multiple disparate ground communications systems
- Experience with satellite operations command and control systems
- Experience with cloud computing and service-oriented architectures.
