We need full and part time Wheelchair drivers
– pay from $16.00 per hour, vehicle provided, great benefits, paid time off, 401k with match, several levels of medical/dental/vision plans available to choose from, free life insurance and short and long term disability insurance.
This position provides transportation service for our clients that require transportation services utilizing wheelchair accessible vehicles.
The driver is also required to provide service for clients to behavioral health services and centers, routine medical appointments from their home, hospital, facility or other location and safely transport to the destination.
The driver is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete transport documentation.
ComTrans is a safety sensitive company.
Some positions at ComTrans require additional certifications when operating vehicles with a design capacity for 8 or more passengers.Must be certified through Comtrans to drive 15-passenger and wheel chair vans.Able to pass a Department of Transportation physical exam initially and upon expiration.Complete ComTrans certification program to operate a vehicle with a design of 8 or more passengers.Certified as a wheelchair driver, you are not a self-contracted driver but an employee of ComTrans.
Must be flexible with schedule but variety of work schedules are available between the hours of 4AM to 9PM Monday through Sunday.
ComTrans transports children and adults to and from a variety of appointments.Requirements: Love to work with children and adults, medical transportation driving experience helpful, must be 21 years or older, good driving record no suspensions past 39 months, valid AZ Drivers License, have or be able to obtain fingerprint clearance card, pass Department of Child Safety background check.
All ComTrans driving positions are considered safety sensitive positions.
If you like working with and helping people, have a patient and caring personality then WE NEED YOU ON OUR TEAMPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, climb stairs/steps, escort clients to and from destination, kneel, crouch, reach and extend arms.Able to grasp objects such as steering wheel, car seats, etcSit in a driving or sitting position from 1 to up to 12 hours.Able to get in and out of vehicles multiple times per dayAssisting students/clients in and out of the vehicles multiple times each day.Able to bend, kneel and secure wheelchairs and clients multiple times per day.Ability to lift or move at least 40 poundsAbility to carry, lift and install child seats into vehicles and secure children into child seats.When required, able to pass a Department of Transportation physical exam initially and upon expiration.Able to perform vehicle pre and post trip inspections daily and on any vehicle.Able to work in a variety of environments: inside and outside, able to tolerate a variety of climate changes and conditions,May be required to push/pull clients over a variety of surfaces and inclines with weights of clients up to 500 pounds.
