Requirements:

  • Experience: 2 years of CDL driving experience preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers.
  • Licensing: Valid Class A commercial drivers license.
  • Travel: Between multiple work locations will be required (within a few miles).

Job Description:

GT’s Class A Drivers are responsible for driving tractor-trailers in a safe manner in accordance with all Company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Some key notes on this role:

  • Transfer driver between multiple yards
  • No-touch freight
  • Work-Life Balance with set schedules, and home every day/night.
  • Assigned truck (no slip seating)
  • Manual transmissions, heavy liquid hauling

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include: Driving trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas.
  • Locally transporting tractor-trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities.
  • Completing daily yard audits and logs, conducting an inventory of equipment and regular inspections, fueling trailers and checking refrigeration temperatures as needed.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to ensure that outbounds, transfers, and internal movements within the yard are transported in accordance with customer service practices and regulations.

  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines

  • Organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Manage time effectively to support various operational activities
  • Ability to closely follow process and instructions in relation to dock operations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Job Details:

  • Work Hours: Multiple shifts, Overtime as needed.
  • Work Attire: Use good judgement, keeping in mind the nature of their work, their own safety and the safety of others, and their need to interact with the public.
