What You’ll Do

WHAT WE NEED
BCG is looking for Project Leader consultants to help Tech, Media, and Telecom clients take on their most difficult challenges and create innovative strategies for growth. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, curious, and confident, with a penchant for going above and beyond immediate project requirements to find deep insights others have missed. A genuine passion for problem-solving, combined with leadership and communication skills will be critical to success.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) is one of the most exciting practice areas in our firm, operating at the intersection of disruptive technology and constantly-evolving consumer trends—a place where the ability to adapt determines who wins and who gets left behind. Working with startups and large incumbents alike, TMT consultants help companies take advantage of emerging trends in real-time and thrive. Our clients’ landscapes have seen more change in the last 10 years than it has in the previous 30 combined. That’s where you come in.
TMT consultants partner with clients to transform their industries, define winning business models, shape their value proposition and go-to-market approach, enhance their operational competitiveness, and create sustained advantage.
Project Leaders play a key role on client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. Project Leaders oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Project Leaders are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships.

What You’ll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

  • Passion for the TMT industry and willingness to commit to a career in our practice area.
  • Demonstrated expertise with a range of topics across technology, media, or telecom industries through sustained client work. We are not looking for specialists in a narrow field, but broad experience that informs a strategic view of future growth opportunities.
  • 3 to 5+ years of post-graduate school consulting experience, with 1+ years at a team lead level
  • Track record of collaboration with senior executives. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to management in TMT clients
  • Strong management and communication skills. The ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action is essential
  • Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm
  • Proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements
  • A combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is critical
  • A solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organizations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business.
  • Technical degree is nice to have but not required
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll collaborate with BCG team members from many backgrounds and disciplines in a team-oriented, relationship-driven environment. Working alongside some of the world’s top minds on cases that reshape business, government and society, you will increase your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives, and develop new skills. At the same time, you’ll partner with senior clients, taking on the role of trusted advisor, and work at all levels of the client organization to find and execute value creation strategies that result in meaningful, enduring impact.
