Primary Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains our Lab Information Systems (LIS) applications – Allscripts Lab, SafeTrace Tx (Blood Bank), Sunquest PowerPath, Data Innovations Instrument Manager, Telcor QML and RALS iSTAT Create and test expert rules in Allscripts Lab application Write and validate management reports in Allscripts Lab Maintain interfaces in Allscripts Lab/LabLink, and update translation tables as needed Monitor and maintain instrument connections in Data Innovations, updating rules and configurations as needed Manage implementation and testing of new instrument interfaces Monitor error workqueues between Lab applications and Epic, and resolve errors Have knowledge of network and firewalls – will be needed when implementing new instrumentation in Lab Supports information management needs of various clinical lab departments or workflows across the organization, including project coordination, applications implementation, upgrades and ongoing maintenance or enhancements Will use clear communication skills and ability to write clear and concise technical documentation Works independently and as part of a team and has demonstrated problem solving skills Test and verify software provided in software releases Works as a liaison between Laboratory Staff and ITS Works with non-laboratory departments regarding laboratory processes to develop solutions for efficient work practices.

Performs ongoing quality assurance audits of LIS calculations, expert rules, logic and outputs to ensure proper functioning and interpretation of results in downstream systems e.g.
Epic and Vigilanz Create and review SOPs in preparation for CAP and other regulatory inspections and audits Actively participate in the education of laboratory staff on the functionality of our LIS applications Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment and systems necessary to complete duties and responsibilities, providing end-user technical support of support applications Adheres to HIPAA standards and supports ongoing professional development Participates in on-call rotation and works off-hours as needed

Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in the lab environment 3+ years of experience creating and reviewing SOPs in preparation for CAP and other regulatory inspections and audits Ability to participate in on-call rotation and work off-hours as needed Understanding of and ability to adhere to HIPAA standards 5+ years of experience supporting LIS environment or other moderately complex clinical systems Working knowledge of HL7 If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
