Job Description Description: Position Summary Vocational Nursing program Maternal/Pediatric Weekend Faculty The Maternal/Pediatric Instructor at Smith Chason School of Nursing will provide instruction to VN learners from different backgrounds, ethnicity, nationalities, gender, ages, religions, or disabilities mainly in the classroom and lab with assistance in the clinical setting using a variety of teaching methods using demonstrations, audiovisual and technological aids to supplement learning. Qualifications: Required: BSN Direct patient care experience in maternal and pediatric environment within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by: · One (1) year continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; or · One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area, or its equivalent, that demonstrate clinical competency; and · Completion of at least one (1) year experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing. Reporting: Will report to the Director of Nursing.
