Adjunct Instructor- Piano Accompanist

Hussian College Studio School – Los Angeles is currently hiring qualified candidates for the: Piano Accompanist (Musical Theatre Performance Classes)All Faculty report to the Department Chair. Faculty works closely with the school’s administrators, academic advisers and administrative staff. Successful candidates are high-energy leaders with a passion for teaching and a collaborative style that promotes integrity, empowers vision, displays flexibility and inspires creativity.Position Description: The successful candidate will be a qualified pianist who accompanies performance classes (and projects) with the ability to musically support BFA Musical Theatre students.The following job requirements represent minimum levels of education, experience and competencies/abilities needed to perform this job successfully:Candidate will be a qualified pianist with a minimum of 4 years professional experience, who accompanies performance classes (and projects) with the ability to musically support BFA Musical Theatre students.Qualified candidates must be able to sight-read, perform and transpose (at least chords) any style of music at a professional level as well as accurately play isolated melodies and accompaniment for students to record.Candidate should be well-versed in Musical Theatre and Contemporary Broadway repertoire and have experience in an educational environment. Normal hand- eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds, is also required.Mental Requirements: This job requires the ability to read, recall, write and understand information.
