Wine Sales Ambassador

Estates & Wines, the Moët Hennessy wine division, is a unique collection of prestigious wineries spread across 5 continents. Our vineyards are located on exceptional sites and are among the best terroirs of their appellation. Each of our wineries have broken new ground – by pioneering new or forgotten regions; or through innovative & distinctive winemaking techniques.

Today, Estates & Wines has the ambition to significantly develop its profit contribution through top line growth with the aim to become a champion of wine quality and excellence at point of sale and to do so we are looking for Wines Ambassadors, with passion for wines and an entrepreneurial spirit, to deliver Commercial excellence in our key markets.

Based in Southern California, and reporting to the Newton CEO and Head of Marketing based in Napa and functionally to the MH USA market, the Wine Sales Ambassador is responsible for developing the distribution, velocity and awareness of the prestige brands of the Estates & Wines Portfolio, in conjunction with the Distributor, as aligned to the overall business development strategy.

This role is first and foremost a sales-focused position, with the extended responsibility of sales analysis, brand education and point-of-sale marketing promotions.

Remuneration will include a generous incentive-based commission structure in addition to the salary.

Requirements

Sales Act as an active sales promoter of our Brands. Support and develop E&W wines sales within the market

  • Together with her/his management, work on a clear hit list of ?to conquer? accounts in strategic On & Off Premise sub-channels within the identified sales territory
  • Reach KPIs for new points of sales and velocity (Newton, Numathia, Ao Yun)
  • ?Open bottles? mindset
  • Develop a customer and trade influencers network. Share ?firsthand? trade & industry information with the sales teams and wineries.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly business performance analyses for Newton, Numanthia and Ao Yun

Velocity Animate the account listings via Activations & Experiences

  • Build a calendar of timely and effective animations for key accounts to drive depletions
  • Execute point-of-sale activations in On & Off Premise and E-Retail accounts in conjunction with the MHUSA & Distributor teams
  • Manage the important sampling budget in order to make our wines accessible and visible in the right places to trade and consumers
  • Set up and deliver consumers tastings / events on Estates & Wines Portfolio (private and corporate wine clubs, business school alumni networks)
  • Report on achievements/ next steps/ updates

Education drive the key brand messages delivered within MH teams and within the trade

  • Manage and execute the Newton Train-the-Trainer education program roll-out with markets, providing training on the sample kits and tracking progress with the trainers on a monthly basis
  • When requested, run trainings in accordance with business priorities (vintages releases, blitzes)
  • Support sales? community with trade trainings and communication actions on the field in accordance with Maison key messages.
  • Ensure key winery messages and credentials are understood and shared
  • Conduct regular staff trainings with key accounts

Education

  • Sales acumen & field experience 2-3 years
  • Wine certification (WSET 2 or 3) or Sommelier diploma are a plus
  • Business / Management Diplomas

  • Entrepreneurial & risk-taking mindset, acting like a brand owner, with agility and flexibility
  • Passion for wine and ability to inspire others.
  • Ability to establish strong relationship with key stakeholders and partners. An existing ?wine industry? network within the market is a plus.
  • Clear and adaptable communicator, at all levels of customer, influencer or internal stakeholders
  • Willingness to spend at least 75% of her/his time being account facing
