Sales Specialist – Airgas Dry Ice

CDL Class B Required
This role is responsible for providing exceptional support to internal and external customers through effective communication, proactive problem resolution, and product expertise. The Specialist will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of assets located in the field, rotation of assets in customer locations, managing assigned territory and associated travel, and exceeding the expectations of customers while working in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule is Monday – Friday
- 40-50 Hours per week
- 50% Travel (Overnight)
- Interact with customers in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner through all forms of communication
- Complete daily responsibilities (quality assurance tasks, administrative functions, customer requests, asset inspections and rotations, etc.) in an accurate and timely manner. Manage all open items to completion.
- Provide routine updates on asset conditions, customer feedback on overall program, market conditions, etc.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze, and creatively solve customer concerns while creating opportunities to increase customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with Branch Managers within assigned territory to identify issues and requirements and develop plans to address and solve those issues.
- Successfully meet and/or exceed expectations of internal and external customers as they relate to issues and requests, creating value for the Penguin program and Airgas
- Make a strong effort to develop appropriate solutions prior to engaging leadership on complex issues
- Collaborate with Penguin Sales Managers to resolve customer needs and concerns
- Utilize proactive sales techniques when addressing external customer needs and requirements, to highlight the value the Penguin program creates for the customers
- Share account knowledge with fellow team members to ensure customer needs are met and best practices are shared among the team
- Comply with all Safety requirements and guidelines as they relate to company vehicles, DOT requirements, etc.
- Provide backup coverage to branches and be able to travel (overnight if needed) with limited notification
- Follow Airgas and department policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned or requested
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma required
- CDL required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; proficiency with computers and software programs
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities under time constraints
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Knowledge of safety, dry ice, and DOT requirements preferred
