COMPANY OVERVIEW A privately held international manufacturer of high performance composite materials with over a 75 year history of providing light weight/high strength materials comprised of honeycomb, sandwich panels, cargo liner, laminates, detailed core components, bonded cores, sub-assemblies and finished parts to the aerospace industry with four divisions.
POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Vice President of Sales or Director of Sales, this position is responsible for meeting or exceeding the profitable revenue growth targets within the assigned regions.
The focus of this position, by individual efforts, is to identify and develop sales opportunities for existing products, develop favorable business cases that lead to the creation of new products that maximize profitable revenue growth.
This position will drive customer satisfaction initiatives, strategic planning and tactical activities, technical and business reviews and contractual negotiations.
Essential Duties Must be capable of becoming a technical expert of composites technologies along with TGC products, processes and capabilities.
Coordinating with cross-functional teams at the divisions and/or corporate sites in pursuit of business with revenues from existing and innovative new technologies.
Establish multi-level, multi-discipline relationships with industry contacts across the assigned area of responsibility.
Relationships must include decision makers, influencers and others who can contribute to awarding profitable revenue opportunities and assist in resolving any customer satisfaction concerns.
Achieve growth targets through directing sales personnel, individual efforts and through collaboration with other company personnel by promoting materials and value-added solutions to the aircraft OEMs, and the supply chain for engines, interiors and structures customers.
Support marketing activities for Commercial, Aerospace and Military customers.
Lead activities necessary to achieve customer satisfaction while resolving escalated issues.
Travel independently and with other personnel as necessary.
Responsibilities Plan and take appropriate actions to meet or exceed assigned targets for the assigned area of responsibility, or as directed.
Utilize sales tools including Salesforce to analyze and report on markets events, customer changes and competitive intelligence.
Proactively manage necessary actions to close opportunities in the pipeline.
Maintain an accurate contact lists, meeting notes, programs, projects and product usage information for customers.
Provide relevant information to develop consolidated, timely, updated rolling forecasts.
Create account and market plans, tactics and strategies to support corporate goals.
Handle all aspects of technical inquiries, quotations, proposals, contract preparation and successful negotiations.
Provide management support for strategic activities, as necessary.
Gather customer requirements and competitive information to make preliminary judgments on the possible fit for new business opportunities.
Ensure company is qualified to all regionally-based customer specifications for existing products and support qualification of new product offerings.
Provide other support to the corporation and divisions, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have prior experience direct sales with individual responsibilities for aerospace customers within the assigned region working for a US-based aerospace products manufacturer, composites preferred.
Understanding of CNC machining (3-axis and 5-axis) operations for composite and metallic materials; multi-opening presses, fabricated parts and complex assemblies.
Existing business relationships with key customers specifically with Aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and all levels of sub-tier interior / structures / engine supplier companies, government entities and Non-Aerospace Customers.
Experience with cost and pricing models, technical sales approach, regional sales management and supporting multiple, distributed divisional sites.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English; technical writing skills required.
Must have excellent computer skills including MS Office suite.
Prior experience with CRM tools, Salesforce, SAP and SharePoint are beneficial.
Candidates must currently reside near corporate headquarters in El Monte, California; consideration may be given to a location in proximity with significant customer base.
EDUCATION: Bachelor degree, engineering, technology or science preferred 10 years relevant aerospace experience managing a sales team, composites industry experience preferred COMPENSATION The Gill Corporation offers a competitive base salary and may include a performance based incentive as well as a benefit plan which includes a 401k and profit funded retirement plan.
