Greenlots’ is seeking a SALES ENGINEER – Los Angeles (Remote)
Greenlots business focuses on delivering turnkey EV charging solutions to strategic and large key accounts in North America.
Greenlots generates business with those accounts – utilities, cities, fleets, and commercial customers – in part through the submission of customer-generated Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Upon RFP award, Greenlots then ensures the success of that EV Charging project by delivering seamless, best-in-class solutions.
The Sales Engineer will be part of Greenlots’ regional sales organization and will be a key asset in supporting the business development growth efforts.
You will be customer-focused and a strategic thinking.
As a key member of the commercial team, the SE provides technical consulting during the sales process, understanding the details of the Greenlots product offering, as well as interfacing directly with the customer for technical questions.
Typical pre-sale activities include gathering, understanding, and analyzing customers’ business and technical requirements, then formulating responses for customer quotation.
The SE is responsible for architecting solutions for customers as part of the proposal and sales process.
The SE is a subject matter expert on Greenlots business model, value proposition and technical solutions.
Post sales activities include supporting Greenlots operations team to deliver projects successfully, including ensuring that the solutions deployed align with the initial project scope.
The position requires initiative, willingness to travel, on the spot creative thinking, common sense, and good judgment.
The specific responsibilities will include:
Manage all aspects of the technical relationship with customers and strategic partners, collaborating with other internal teams as needed (e.g., SW Development, Product Management, Operations, Implementation).
Work closely with sales personnel and management to develop account plans to meet business objectives.
Work closely with customers to determine technical requirements, feasibility and expectations.
Provide technical leadership in customer meetings including preparing technical supporting materials; presenting and explaining product capabilities, features and benefits; demonstrating products, and developing solutions to meet customer requirements.
Subject matter expert in Greenlots products and solutions including hands-on experience to credible in guiding customers to the ideal solution.
Support customer technology evaluations including trials and PoC’s.
Manages and directs all phases of a product sale from inception to quote to delivery.
Coordinates hand off to Project Management, Commissioning and Operations team.
Provide input on technical aspects for RFI/RFP responses.
Must be able to analyze and understand the customer’s business problem and independently develop a proposal that articulates the features and benefits of working with Greenlots as a solution provider.
Define systems configurations and identify and communicate any required product enhancements to the product teams.
Provides high level of technical support and direction for customers as well as sales personnel and assists in building customer relationships to drive revenue growth.
Serves as a customer advocate.
Strives to improve processes and products based on customer input and requirements.
Must be a highly accountable self-starter with good organizational and analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting technical solutions to assist in closing sales.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years’ professional level technical/engineering experience.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Candidates should have a college degree in an associated field (e.g.
Information Technology, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
Master’s degree helpful but not required.
2-3 years industry experience in solutions development.
Experience with any of the following a plus: energy management; edge device hardware; cellular networks; software-as-a-service
Interest in clean energy; electric transportation; sustainability
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational and process management skills.
Ability to work across functional areas within a company to achieve win-win result.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for environmental issues and renewable energy.
