Patient Access Scheduling Representative, Per Diem, Day Shift – Respiratory/Pulmonary Department

Located just outside of Kailua, AHCS serves all of O’ahu and is the primary health care facility for the Windward side of the island.We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Patient Access Scheduling Representative who:Schedules patients for facility services including ancillary, surgical, and medical testing/procedures/admissions in Scheduling Books and based on the physician order received.

Applies substantial knowledge of the job and experience to complete a wide range of activities with varying difficulty.

Regularly works with sensitive and confidential information, often involving the interpretation of policies and procedures to guide use.Essential Functions: Completes the scheduling process for patient and physicians requesting service in a professional, compassionate and courteous manner.

Responsible for obtaining pre-defined data, completion of scheduling process in computer system, scheduling conflict resolution, cancellations or revisions based on patient/provider/or facility request.

Provide patients with necessary instructions regarding preparation, timing and location of exams per facility guidelines.

Communicates effectively with departments of the hospital and physician offices in a timely, courteous and professional mannerResponsible for selecting correct patient and correct service/exam.

Ensures that orders and required authorizations are in place.

Collects clinical data under facility direction to ensure test is appropriate.

Provides excellent customer service in a polite, professional and compassionate way.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.You’ll be successful with the following qualifications: Education: High School Education/GED or equivalent: PreferredAssociate’s / Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: PreferredTwo years healthcare experience: Preferred Adventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients.
