Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data for complex billing situations and enters information into the electronic medical record.Key Position Details:This position is a 11:30a-8:00p Tuesday
– Saturday position primarily working as a Financial counselor for patients.Job Description:Principle Responsibilities Greets and welcomes patient in person.

Collects demographic and insurance information.

Checks in and interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork.

Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.

Documents any issues and resolutions in electronic medical record.

Uses resources, tools and procedure to complete registration for complex accounts.

May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.

Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results focusing on complex billing situations.

Obtains cost information and explains information to patient if necessary.

Collects co-pay or deductibles.

Assists and counsels patient with application process for available financial assistance programs.

Provides technical or functional direction for employees.

Mentors new staff.

Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.

Assists patient in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department.

Other duties as assigned.Job Requirements Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description, and High school diploma or GED preferred Associate’s or Vocational degree preferred 2 to 5 years of revenue cycle or healthcare insurance experience required and 2 to 5 years of customer service experience required and 0 to 2 years of experience using computer including an electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required and 0 to 2 years of general office experience required and 0 to 2 years of experience as a Patient Access Representative required Certified Application Counselors State of Minnesota
