The Missions Unit Specialist supports the Defense sales business focused on serving US Department of Defense mission needs for the entity, driving commercial innovation into the Defense space. Accountabilities include:Sales Planning and ExecutionDevelops customer relationships across the Department of Defense in the United States with the goal of achieving Microsoft business objectives and strategic market priorities balancing long-range strategic objectives with the tactical plans of actions to drive successDevelops and drives scalable, repeatable opportunities that apply Microsoft technology to mission applications in DefenseEngages pivotal decision makers and executes programs aimed at expanding Microsofts market shareSupports cross-cutting mission/operationally focused sales activity in collaboration with the broader Microsoft, with a focus on interservice coordinationLeads Defense mission-focused opportunities requiring deeper engagement, longer time horizon and direct support, shaping requirements, procurement strategy and fielding timelines for emerging capabilitiesArchitects a new approach for developing, fielding and sustaining cloud native capabilities serving mission needs for the US Department of DefenseDirectly partners with the Federal Partner Team Unit on large, mission-focused acquisitionsOperational and Business Excellence.Exceeds Revenue and cloud delivery targets, collaborates across Microsoft and partnersDrives requirements into the product roadmap, enabling MSFT products and solutions to better meet the needs of the Defense customer by working closely with Defense customers, advisory groups, and with Microsoft product development teamsQualificationsRecord of ResultsSuccessful experience as a trusted technology and advisorTrack record of successfully helping customers realize their mission objectives, ensuring customer success and delivering valueExperience with large deals/projects, contracts, and portfolio balancing/managementBusiness CompetenciesUnderstanding of the Defense market opportunities and competitive technology landscape.Superior ability to collaborate with key stakeholders groups within Microsoft, partner organizations and customersDevelopment and communication of business insights using data and customer feedbackTechnical Knowledge & CredentialsDigital thought leadership and application to solve problemsKnowledge of industry and technical trends that drives Department of Defense strategy and executionUnderstanding of software, cloud delivery and consulting/support servicesLeadership and CultureAbility to coordinate organizations and people at-scale, across multiple locationsDemonstrated ability to lead disruptive and transformational effortsEducation and ExperienceExperience working with/selling to military preferredSoftware sales cloud delivery, with at least 5 years of technology-related experienceBachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) preferredUS Citizenship:The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening.
