Summary:

Under regular supervision the Member Services Representative I (MSR I), embraces the Credit Union’s mission to improve member financial health by providing an exceptional member experience and demonstrates support of the credit union’s core values by always representing the Credit Union in a professional, friendly, helpful, and timely manner.

Provides excellent member service and is responsible to achieve and exceed established cross sell goals, actively support organizational goals, promotions, and maintain acceptable member service standards. Takes personal responsibility for constantly improving their knowledge level for all CU products and services as well as CU operations and compliance issues by actively seeking out advanced training opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Member Service Representative I welcomes members into the branch and provide excellent member service that promotes financial education while using expert knowledge in deposit, loan and, convenience service products to accurately, and efficiently process a variety of financial inquiries. The job duties, responsibilities, and requirements represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required, but may not be all-inclusive. Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.

· Routinely follows the sales and service guidelines to provide our members with an exceptional member service experience

· Receives and disburses funds, posts deposits, loan payments, transfers, withdrawals and issue cashier’s checks

· Processes loan advances from credit card or line of credit accounts.

· Balances cash drawer daily

· Operates computer terminals and maintains records of various transactions

· May conduct limited activities associated with opening new accounts

· Creates a friendly, professional, and relaxed environment when interacting with the public

· Supports and actively promotes all marketing campaigns

· Scan and balance checks in preparation for check processing. Processes school bags and assists in cash vault balancing

· Cross-sell products and services to members and required to consistently achieve all cross-sell goals

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and maintain accurate records
  • Must have the ability to identify member opportunities for financial improvement, communicate recommendations, and provide support

    Requirements:

    · High School diploma or equivalent

    · Previous teller or equivalent experience serving customers preferred

    Knowledge of banking and/or credit union regulations and statutes preferred
