The purpose of the Inside Sales position is to ensure customer needs are identified and met in a timely manner, achieve customer satisfaction, and meet sales objectives and goals. This position will also identify and close additional purchases of products and services provided by Bakersfield Pipe & Supply, Inc.

Essential functions:
Generating new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
Determining customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
Presenting price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers profitability profiles
Accurately processing customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns in the company s ERP system.
Working closely with vendors regarding products, shipment dates and expected date of delivery
Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
Build customer and vendor relationships to earn their trust
Identifying revenue opportunities within customers communities through communications, programs and other activities as needed.
Prospecting, qualifying and generating sales within our established guidelines
Understanding the price metrics / material provided by purchasing
Understanding and use the selling price matrices for existing and new customers
Provide reporting to management as requested
Monitoring scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
Contacting customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals
Identifying trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
Managing time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team
Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products
Maintaining proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software

Shift start: 8:00AM
Shift length: 8 hours
Monday – Friday; some weekends

PVF Industry experienceKnowledge of basic inside sales procedures and practicesProficiency in the use of computers and software programs; including word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications.
