DAN DEE/ANIMAL ADVENTUREGLOBAL LICENSING & INTERNATIONAL SALESJOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Licensing Coordinator, Global Licensing DepartmentCreated/Revised: June 2021Location: Los Angeles OfficeReports To: Head of Global Licensing & International SalesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssist Sales, Design, and Production Teams in achieving revenue/sales targets and business plan goals, including: Help secure licenses for seasonal and everyday plush lines Negotiate best deal terms to maximize profitability Manage Licensing Process which includes:§ Indentying all rights holders § Obtaining initial written licensing approval from licensors§ Submitting proposals and concepts obtained from the design team§ Negotiating deal points§ Initiate Advance payment processing§ Oversee execution of agreements and communication between Licensor and Licensee§ Obtain Customs Letters for each license agreement§ Track license term expiration dates and negotiate renewals when needed§ Review Quarterly Royalty reporting with Accounting Department§ Review packaging and hang tag artwork for correct description and required credit language prior to production§ Manage conracted product samples for licensors§ Regularly update Master License List reporting information to sales, design, production, and accounting teams§ Manage license agreements term expirations for potential renewals§ Oversee management of licensing agreement guidelinesAssist Sales, Design, and Product Development Teams to help with new business development Work directly with licensors to identify classic and new content licensing opportunities to grow feature plush category Research trends in content and how it translates into new productsAssist Director, International Sales & Global Licensing in achieving revenue/sales targets and business plan goals, including: Business prospecting Follow-up on enquiries & requests from international sales agents, retailers and distributors Manage business processes to insure timely development of product concepts/catalogs/samples/pricing between Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, Sales & Retailers/Distributors Execution / implementation of trade & consumer communications/events (e.G., HKTF preparations).
Assist in developing marketing materials for Dan Dee International Sales Manage NetSuite (or similar software) implementation and use Assist in developing, researching and introducing new product concepts and formats focused on international marketsAssist Director, International Sales & Global Licensing in achieving revenue/sales targets and business plan goals, including: Business prospecting and in-bound licensing pipeline management Follow-up on enquiries & requests from potential& current licensors, and licensing agents Execution / implementation of trade & consumer communications/events (e.G., Licensing Expo).
Assist in developing marketing materials for Dan Dee Licensing When asked to do so manage music licensing business including: Research related to licenses that can actually generate profitable revenues, coordination with sales/product development teams in order to select the best music, and marketing of Dan Dee to music publishers, contract negotiation and after contract servicing of music licenses.
Assist Team with general administration work, including: Assist in following-up on licensing negotiation and post-contract processes, including deal requisition, contract processing, trademark/importation permission letters, contract modifications, credit information, other documents required by Finance, Legal, Business Affairs or other Departments within the company, and Licensors Assist in reviewing Royalty Reports, if necessary.
Summarize and communicate relevant licensing term sheet and contract details to Sales, Product Development, Sourcing and Finance Departments within Dan Dee.
Co-ordinate with Marketing & Creative Departments todistribute materials needed for the management of Licenses Regularly update licensing, client data base(s) and prepare reports for Licensor/Clients.
Assist with evaluating trademark and copyright issues (e.G., management of copyright/trademark applications), and provide administrative back-up when necessary.
Daily administration: sales materials preparation and distribution, calendar scheduling and other administrative duties, as directedBrand Assurance (BA): Review, coordinate and, if necessary, submission of product designs, packaging or promotion/marketing layout submissions Follow up with licensors when necessary to ensure timely approval of products Provide training for new licenses on BA process & BA approval criteria Provide consultation to all licensors on BA related enquiriesOther Duties: As directedQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 5 years working experience in sales, licensing and/or marketing.
Knowledge in relevant product production processes University graduate in business administration, marketing, finance, retail or related fields.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and with client service instincts.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work efforts.
Be self motivated, independent & creative; work as a team player Fluency in spoken/written/reading of English.
Fluency in spoken/written/reading of any of the following foreign languages a plus: Spanish, Mandarin.
Computer literate in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.
