Edelman is seeking an Account Executive to join the Crisis & Risk team in Los Angeles.

Our team protects clients against reputational risk through around-the-clock support and counsel.

The assistance ranges from assessments of a client’s vulnerabilities and preparedness capabilities to immersive crisis training and ongoing crisis and issues management.

We help companies identify threats to reputation and the bottom line, minimize risk, manage issues and maximize crisis preparedness.

While there’s no “typical” day in this role, we are looking for a team member who can roll with the punches and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires someone who is invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and thinking critically through the lens of risk mitigation.

Responsibilities:
Write, edit and proofread materials including statements, Q&As, stakeholder communications, fact sheets and client correspondence Research, compile and analyze coverage of clients in the media, including social media Support development of crisis communications playbooks and research and development of content for crisis simulations Demonstrate general knowledge of social media management and listening tools, as well as basic principles of community management Participate in new business process including research and proposal preparation Demonstrate an understanding of the differences in writing styles depending on the outlet, channel and audience (online, social network, traditional media, etc.) Demonstrate research abilities to support client programs Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling, logistics and provide billing support Manage up and work closely with senior staff for project management and delivery Commit to continuous learning through client engagements, Edelman Learning Institute and other training and development opportunities Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Basic Qualifications:
You should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent organization skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.

You must have at least 1 year of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media, public affairs, or politics.

You must have a strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work.

You must have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of account service staff across a broad set of accounts. 
Preferred Qualifications:
You will have a proven ability to lead and manage multiple small or medium-sized projects simultaneously You will have a clear understanding of her/his clients’ businesses and their missions, as well as their key stakeholders: consumers, employees, investors, regulators, media, vendors, partners and other businesses/organizations, etc.

You will have demonstrated ability to help develop communications plans, implement public relations tactics, and impart knowledge to junior account team members You should be able to perform well under pressure and be a team player You will have good research, writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to interact with clients professionally and maintain relationships with media members Previous experience in agency, in-house communications, or political roles is highly preferred #LI-JLF
