FOLD Gallery is located in the Spring Arts Collective above The Last Bookstore in Downtown Los Angeles.

We are dedicated to our amazing array of artists in the gallery and boast the wares of independent businesses and artisans.

Our local and indie artist section is a wonderful part of the shop that gives accolade to those incredibly hard working small and independent businesses.

Retail Sales Associate for DTLA Gallery/Shop
The part-time Sales Associate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, efficiently and accurately processing cash receipts, daily sales, product merchandising, and stocking as needed.

Other miscellaneous tasks and special projects may be assigned.

Responsibilities:
Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
Answer telephone calls and take messages.
Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
Maintain knowledge of current sales, shows, and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
Compute sale prices, total purchases, and receive and process cash and credit card payments.
Update records related to sales.
Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
Answer questions regarding the gallery/shop and its merchandise.
Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.
Arrange and display merchandise to promote sales.
Clean shelves, counters, windows, and tabletops.
Process exchanges of merchandise for customers.
Bag or package purchases and wrap gifts.
Requirements:
Available to work approximately 12-24 hours/week during the hours of 10am-8pm (exact shift times vary).
One to two years prior retail experience.
Highly motivated and extremely reliable.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Instagram traffic-building experience a huge plus.
Must be on time!

Reliable transportation to work and excellent time management skills required.
Ability to regularly walk or stand for periods up to 7 hours.
Must be friendly and able to interact kindly with customers.
Experience with or knowledge of vintage camera stock a huge plus.
Strong organization skills.
Detail oriented.
Creative problem-solving skills.
Must thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
