The Job
The Retail Planning & Execution Specialist is responsible for effectively leading on-site project execution and completing projects on time and within budget. In addition, this role plays an active part in the pre-execution planning process by participating in project meetings and providing input on key planning activities. Lastly, this role is a key strategic partner to the sales team in driving new business and participating in customer prospecting meetings.
Preferred Residence: West- Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, or LA.
What you will do…
- Effectively lead on-site project execution; communicate, lead, and develop MSO team members to complete projects on time and within allocated labor budget
- Provide inputs for all required process documentation in a timely manner: pre-execution plan, project expense estimator tool validations, project recaps & photos, etc.
- Provide input on key elements of project planning: store layout, assortment plans, delivery dates, etc.
- Participate in project meetings and understand project scope by participating in various milestones throughout the customer conversion process – including store audits (prospecting) and store walks (planning)
- During project planning weeks, participate in customer prospecting visits with the local TM and Sales Director
- Provide customer consultation on store layout – including department placement and category adjacencies; understand, embrace, and clearly communicate EJD value proposition to customers
- Provide candid feedback on opportunities for improvement with the conversion and project execution processes and work with internal team members to develop and implement solutions
What you need to be successful…
- 10 years of store planning, visual merchandising, or store management experience in retail environment and / or Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of experience
- Hardware / Home Improvement industry experience required
- Customer-centric with excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills with understanding of EJD customers & channels
- Ability to effectively lead store conversion and remodel projects and accomplish objectives in active store environment
- Detail-oriented and extremely organized self-starter who is able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems and meet deadlines
- Understanding of the markets and industries of Emery Jensen customers
- Embodies company values and is customer focused
- Must have the ability to climb a ladder, stand for a period of time, and carry 35lbs to put stock away.
- FIELD: Company Car, phone and fuel card are included for field based positions.
