A good Bartender does not just take orders he/she provides suggestions and uses selling techniques to increase the order while enhancing the Customers visit.
This individual maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area in a fast-paced environment, while providing an extraordinarily memorable Guest experience.
A Day in the Life of a BartenderThe essential duties and responsibilities of a Bartender include, but are not limited to, the following:Greets Guests with a smile in a timely and professional mannerPossesses full knowledge of bar and menu items and makesrecommendationsAccurately records food and beverage orders fromGuests in a timely mannerVerifies identification to confirm Guests are at least 21 years of age for all alcohol transactionsEnsures that alcohol is consumed in designated areas onlyConsistently uses suggestive selling techniquesCollaborates with kitchen team to ensure that food orders are accurateDelivers food and beverage orders within established time framesProcesses payment for completed guest ordersMaintains appropriate stock levels for the barAssists theGeneralManager on duty with placing orders for all liquor and bar related suppliesAttends a mandatory Shift Huddle (team discussion) at the start of or during the shiftConsistently identifies and sanitizesGuesthigh-contact areas within and around the dining area restaurant, lounge, bar, auditorium, and patio areasConsistently ensures and promotes adherence of proper social distancing guidelinesProperly utilizes Personal Protective Equipment while completing position specific tasksAdapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasksMonitors safety and/security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.) and reportsissuesto managementPerforms other work-related duties as assignedWhat You Will Need to Have:Proof of age (Associates who will be serving, pouring, or mixing alcoholic beverages will need to be 18 years of age and in some states 21 years of age)Completes basic food handling training and obtains any local or state mandated certification, healthcard, or food handlers permit where requiredTeam Members who work with alcohol are required to complete a Safe Alcohol Service training programPrior experience in a high-volume bar environmentpreferredAvailability to work flexible hours which include evenings, weekends, and holidaysRequires regular and consistent attendanceHas an energetic and friendly attitude during each shiftProvides excellent Guest serviceAccurate cash handling and basic math skillsInterpersonal skills include the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities.
