Welder

Welder Position Summary Welders will be responsible for welding metal, assembling parts, and clean-up welds.

They will be responsible for performing basic math such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers.

All welders will be expected to weld in a flat position and understand what a quality weld looks like.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Weld and assemble parts to company standards Assemble parts using a variety of tools and methods Become proficient in the use of the equipment required by the job function May be required to explore ways of improving efficiency, speed, and quality of work being done Experienced welders will be responsible for performing finishing sanding, scraping, BBs and other clean-up duties Follow departmental employee objectives, standards or directions Adhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines Follow company policies and procedures Minimum Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Additional training, education, or certification in welding is preferred.

Experience is preferred in one or more of the following welding processes: SMAW, GMAW, or FCAW.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements Basic knowledge and understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals) Ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructions Ability to arrange things or actions in a particular order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, pictures, etc.) Ability to read basic prints/schematics Ability to read and use a tape measure, rule, and square to fit parts and assemblies Physical Requirements Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds from floor to chest to high shelving Ability to perform frequent postural changes such as sitting, reaching, climbing, standing, walking, lifting, stooping and twisting Ability to see details at a close range (within a few feet) and judge which of several objects is closer or further away Note This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.
