The Opportunity

The Wage & Hour Practice Group is seeking an Associate with 2-5 years of Labor & Employment experience. This candidate will handle wage and hour/FLSA labor and litigation representations and assist California employers to ensure that their policies and practices comply with wage and hour laws and best management practices through its audit services and preventative training. The candidate will also defend employers in complex wage and hour/FLSA class action and multi-plaintiff lawsuits through all states of litigation, including jury trials and appeals.

Essential Duties:

  1. An attorney who is familiar with the Fair Labor Standards Act, including the following Department of Labor regulations: 29 CFR Parts 541, 553, 778 and 785. Who can
  2. Provide advice and counsel on FLSA legal issues
  3. Review Payroll calculations for compliance with the regular rate of pay
  4. Comfortably audit collective bargaining agreement and/or personnel rules and identify W&H issues to raise with clients.
  5. Who can litigate or advise litigators on legal FLSA issues.
  6. An attorney who is familiar with California Labor Code sections and Wage Orders applicable to private employers.
  7. Provide advice and counsel on W&H issues applicable to California private employers
  8. Review Payroll calculations for compliance with the regular rate of pay
  9. Comfortably audit collective bargaining agreements, personnel rules and/or employee handbooks and identify W&H issues to raise with clients.
  10. Who can litigate or advise litigators on W&H issues applicable to private employers.

Qualifications

  • Active license in good standing with the California State Bar;
  • Credentials from an ABA approved law school;
