VP of Operations

Join our fast growing beauty brand and become a fundamental member of our team. The VP of Operations will be a highly impactful and influential member of the leadership team at OSEA. The new VP will create value by delivering leadership across all aspects of operations globally, including: supply chain strategy, procurement, co-manufacturing, logistics, quality operations, safety and regulatory. This individual will oversee strategic sourcing relationships through an expanding international network of partners. This role will require a strategic approach, coupled with an innate sense of quantitative thinking and data-driven decision making to drive business efficiencies. This individual will work with cross-functional partners to help frame and drive the overall strategy, managing risk throughout operations both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • 10+ years of experience in operations and supply chain roles within beauty/personal care with increasing scope and responsibility, ideally with foundational training at a large company followed by a move into a high-growth, entrepreneurial brand
  • Will possess a proven track record of successfully scaling up a business with a complex, global supply chain
  • Experience in leading a complex supply chain from end-to-end, including sourcing/procurement, contract manufacturing, logistics/distribution, and quality/safety
  • Strategic perspective, with the ability to “see around corners” and anticipate where the business is going
  • Able to identify and execute process improvement initiatives that will drive productivity improvements, reduce costs, and improve profitability
  • Proven ability to build credibility and strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Effectively manage multiple supplier, vendor, and third-party relationships., and extensive experience managing third party fulfillment centers
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and presentation skills, with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and the ability to engage key internal and external stakeholders
  • Skilled at identifying and developing best-in-class talent; building a strong team and an entrepreneurial culture
  • An insightful individual with a strong work ethic; someone who “rolls up his/her sleeves”, commits themselves fully to the business and who is dedicated to developing and delivering outstanding results
  • Experience in both DTC and B2B Operations scaling
  • Knowledge with Material Requirements Planning/Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) systems (familiarity with transitioning to ERP a plus!)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written, non-verbal, intuitive, psychic et al)
  • Must be willing to fall in love with our products, meditate with our team and have fun while we work!

Requirements

  • Assume full end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of operations and supply chain for the business
  • Provide leadership and vision to the product supply function, understanding and leveraging both people and technology to elevate overall operational performance
  • Partner with Product Development, Marketing, and other key internal partners to determine delivery timelines for new product launches, develop action plans and ensure commitments are fulfilled to support rapid growth and maximize target market penetration
  • Manage co-manufacturing partnerships with accountability for selection, performance quality and customer service of these key relationships
  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategic operational plan, while cohesively driving this plan throughout the business
  • Evaluate and adjust purchasing strategies, supply chain and vendor management (strategic sourcing) to maximize profit
  • Drive standardization and efficiencies across the network, with a focus on creating a top-tier customer service focused organization
  • Serve as a thought leader and business partner to the CEO and other members of the team. Provide strategic insight and forward-thinking ideas to grow the company
  • Focus on the tools and metrics that maximize capacity and resource utilization, shorten lead-time, improve quality and inventory levels
  • Manufacturing, continuous improvement, purchasing, inventory control, quality control,
  • engineering/maintenance, as well as shipping, receiving, and warehousing
  • Oversee all of the company’s manufacturing functions including planning and execution of the manufacturing activities necessary to meet the needs of the company’s growth strategy
