Univision’s SVOD team is seeking an experienced, creative executive to serve as VP of Development focused on identifying, developing and producing original Spanish-language content as part of its streaming organization. This role will ultimately lead and build innovative digital experiences that empower and entertain our diverse audiences. This team works closely with Production, Acquisitions, Programming and other internal teams to ensure the efficient delivery of film/series content. A successful candidate will be proactive and relentless, entrepreneurial, flexible, thorough and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
Guide projects creatively through various stages of development and production until launched on the SVOD service
Establish and maintain relationships with creators, producers, and talent to source new content opportunities and communicate them to internal and external partners
Manage and evaluate content through performance tracking, relationship cultivation, and research to find projects that engage our subscribers and enhance our brand
Read & provide effective creative oversight on scripts, cuts, edits of series. Provide guidance on storylines and casting
Work closely with external creative partners, including writers, producers, and directors
Manage budgets and suggest best practices from pre-production through delivery
Represent team interests across the company (operations, legal, finance, business intelligence/reporting, marketing, product) on a regular basis
Required Skills & Experience
Demonstrated creative experience developing and producing series or film, with 10+ years of experience in studios and/or networks
Ability to stay calm under pressure and lead both internal teams and external partners
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment supervising several projects in various points of development and production
Team-player who drives innovation and thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial setting
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with Spanish-language content
Ability to thrive in a high pressure and rapidly changing, less structured environment
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain focus and confidentiality
Strong relationship building ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish
Has knowledge of and actively consumes Univision content, a plus!
