VP of Business Development

We are looking for a VP of Business Development who has a combination of business affairs, deal-making, people management experience, and an established high level network across entertainment and digital industries. You will increase company revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities as well as growing our current business model. This role will lead and build our Business Development team, manage existing partnerships, and evaluate company business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, initiate, and develop creative new partnership ideas and business strategies with large entertainment and media companies
  • Lead as liaison for all major pitches representing pearpop and understanding how to present our story
  • Drive impactful partnerships focused on growth, retention, and innovation through key stakeholder relationships
  • Own and lead negotiating deal terms, executing and launching special projects
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing team that works cross-functionally to build new partnerships
  • Advocate internally for partners and educate on industry market trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business strategy and support growth

What You Bring to the Table

  • 10+ years of experience in business development in the digital & entertainment space having worked in business affairs, strategic planning, partnership development or strategic partnerships
  • Working knowledge of social platform structure and community development
  • Strong negotiating and deal making skills across media landscapes
  • Experience interpreting legal documents, negotiate contracts, and work with counsel to complete agreements
  • Experience in finance, planning, marketing and/or product development
  • Extraordinary organizational skills with the ability to work with senior leadership and meet deadlines in a fast paced, startup environment
  • Ability to work independently to drive multiple time-sensitive, high-priority projects
