VP Consumer Products

You Will 

  • Identify, build and grow revenue-generating and brand-enhancing initiatives for Company brands aligning with the founder’s vision
  • Deliver on the vision of Company, Inc. portfolio of brands through product and partnership development in the US and globally
  • Create a prioritized proactive business development plan outlining areas of growth and focus across various channels
  • Manage our current product and partnership licensing lines of business across categories including Housewares, Publishing & Food and Beverage, with ventures into Toy, Pet, Stationery, Gardening, Personal care, and more
  • Develop a filter through which to pass reactive opportunities to determine if they are worth further consideration
  • Analyze the competitive landscape and identify whitespace opportunities for Company brands
  • Shepherd growth opportunities taking them from concept to market launch to scale with ongoing evaluation and assessment.
  • Examine current initiatives and be a changemaker for areas that can grow significantly with investment or a modified approach.
  • Utilizing a collaborative approach ensuring key internal stakeholders (creative, finance, legal, marketing, editorial etc.) are consulted and informed.
  • Work across the organization to get buy-in for our brand partnerships and licensing deals
  • Partner with clients on direct sold opportunities that leverage product and licensing 
  • Oversee annual budget, initiatives and projects using a data and business driven approach aiming for the most efficient return on investment
  • Support business development efforts for new licensing partnerships; be the voice for the Company brands in calls with external partners
  • Frequently communicate learnings and insights from franchise and licensing to cross functional partners across the business to strengthen the feedback loop of brand building and content

You Have

  • 10+ years experience working in a brand marketing, franchise development or licensing role
  • Experience partnering with internal teams to brainstorm solutions that achieve client goals and future business needs
  • Experience and comfort presenting to a range of audiences, tailoring messages accordingly
  • Proven project management experience and ability to navigate and communicate timelines and deliverables (internally and externally) with accuracy
  • Experience and ability to tell a story using data, research and insights research

  • Demonstrable communication and consensus-building skills to align people behind the strategic agenda, co-create plans, and influence a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully managing ambitious, strategic, and operationally complex projects with cross-functional teams
  • Emotional intelligence; ability to work well in a matrixed environment excellent communication 
  • A creative and tenacious brand, team and business developer
  • An effective collaborator, mentor and motivator
  • A senior executive who can seamlessly transition from a boardroom presentation to an executor of whatever needs to be done to get a project across the finish line.
