Job Details: OPERATIONS SPECIALIST II INTERNATIONAL

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This position can be located in Los Angeles, CA or Raleigh, NC. The Operations Specialist II in International is responsible for handling payments, accounting, and client support for foreign exchange and swap related activities. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, administration of international product documentation, reconciliation, account management, and payment investigations. Performs special projects as requested.

Banking and Investment Services Division
As a member of City National’s Banking & Investment Services group, you will be part of the essential central operations and back-end hub for all of the bank’s lines of business.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Handles administrative tasks including payments, accounts, accounting and client support for foreign exchange activities.
  • Ensures all transactions are approved, controlled, transmitted and reconciled on a daily basis in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
  • Interacts with various CNB Departments. Interacts externally with domestic and foreign correspondent banks and clients.
  • Escalates issues and concerns to management to ensure speedy resolutions.
  • Uses independent judgment and technical knowledge to ensure the timeliness, accuracy and control of work produced.
  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and International policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • H.S. Diploma
  • *Minimum 1 year international, payments experience in a financial institution.
  • *Minimum 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • *Minimum 1 year working knowledge of accounting or BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance

Skills and Knowledge

  • College degree preferred
  • General knowledge of OPICS system a plus
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels of Bank personnel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Customer service skills for both internal and external customers
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Strong teamwork, organizational, and problem-resolution skills also required
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
