Position:Paralegal/Legal AssistantFirm Description:The firm is a well-established, small boutique public interest law firm providing high quality, plaintiff-side litigation services and advocacy in the areas of environmental law, natural and historical resources protection, land use, housing rights, water quality protection, open government laws, safe energy, and coastal preservation.

With offices in Los Angeles and Ventura County, the firm is a recognized leader in the representation of non-profit and community-based organizations and individuals committed to protecting the quality of life in California and representation of tenants who have been harmed by unscrupulous landlords.Scope of position and activities:The firm seeks a paralegal/legal assistant with experience to join our team.The ideal candidate will be able to support cases in litigation, maintain files, maintain the firm’s litigation calendaring system, and work with clients in gathering documents and preparing discovery responses.

Good writing skills a must.

The position requires familiarity with California and federal court filing (and e-filing) procedures and rules of civil procedure.

Spanish speaking ability is a plus.

Recent law graduates are encouraged to apply; the position will require a two-year commitment before advancement to associate attorney will be considered.Location and compensationWork hours and location are flexible.
