Employment Status:Full Time (72-80 Hours Per Pay Period)Job Category:Facilities & HospitalityJOB SUMMARY:This position reports to the Director, Construction and manages activities necessary to maintain a current space inventory of all facilities, analyze space utilization effectiveness, recommending actions to respond to changing demands for space needs, and managing milestones and deliverables for assigned projects.

Accountable for maintaining facilities inventory database and the tracking of changes to the use or allocation of space.

Provides input and assessment on the impact of the facilities inventory.EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:Two to Four years in Space Planning or similar position in construction, facilities, engineering or related field.Proficient with scheduling, MS Office, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Visio is preferred.Ability to work with vendors, general contractors, and user groups.Excellent prioritization and organizational skills; verbal and written communication skills.EDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (5+ years) work experience.LICENSURES/CERTIFICATION:Must successfully complete and maintain LA City Fire Card certification at the time of hire or within the first 30 days of employment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (These are the essential job functions for this position.

Employees hired for this position must be able to perform the essential function of this job without imposing significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of themselves or others):Manage perpetual facilities inventory dataset, verifying data integrity, and ensuring accuracy of room code and naming conventions per standards.Prepare and submit facilities space and inventory reports.Management of movers and installations for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).Manage the purchasing FFE and equipment for all projects.Provide specifications for space planning to include FFE layout, standards for materials selection, and adherence to compliance code for ADA Standards or other ruling jurisdictions.Adherence and maintenance of Standards protocol for FFE and finishes.Prepare and distribute space representative reports for end-user verification of space use; communicate with other departments to review all existing spaces for current size, conditions and use, and updates facilities inventory files to reflect these changes.Collect, review, and validate space change requests, and update inventory as needed.Develop and maintain mechanism for campus access to reports for space planning and data-driven decision making, including reporting of data related to current use, unmet demand, under-utilized space, and opportunities for greater efficiency of use.Engage in mutual support and collaboration on varying projects.Project manages assigned projectsPerform other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Key for Physical DemandsContinuous66 to 100% of the timeFrequent33 to 65% of the timeOccasional0 to 32% of the time Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient CareFrequent/continuous sitting with occasional, intermittent standing/walking.Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting and climbing.Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
