Role Validation Engineer Duration 6+ Months Note Candidates need to work onsite in Los Angeles, CA Key Roles Responsibilities Define and execute HIL, battery pack, and vehicle level regression testing. Work with cross functional teams (software, HIL, systems, mechanical, and electrical) to develop software unit, software integration, HIL, and pack level test cases. Develop test plans to validate electrical and mechanical components and systems within EV battery packs. Collaborate with design engineers to create a detailed design validation plan that characterizes system performance and assess performance degradation throughout life. Determine appropriate data acquisition, instrumentation, and sensors required to ensure test meets its objectives. Provide feedback related to battery failure modes discovered in testing to DevelopmentValidation Engineers and Design Engineers. Provide analysis on data collected during testing. Design and modify fixtures and instrumentation for battery testing. Be technical lead and provide direction to lab personnel (both in house and outside) in setting up and executing tests. Develop the process and layout for test artifacts and documents including test plans, test cases, and test reports. Basic Qualifications BSMS in a relevant Engineering field (Energy, System, Automotive, Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical) Minimum of 5 years of experience as a system validation or test engineer Proven knowledge and experience of analyzing system requirements specifications and development of validation plans. Strong working knowledge of electrical systems and relevant debugging tools Experience with executing test cases independently for at least one of these system testing and HIL testing Experience with data acquisition and calibration software (PCAN, CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.) Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail Battery system background is preferred
