UX Writer

Pluto TV is currently looking for a UX Writer to join our team.

This role will create and maintain our UX writing style guide and write user-interface content for various platforms that host the Pluto TV service.

The goal of creating this consumer-facing writing and writing guidelines is to improve the discoverability of content and heuristics of the user experience.

The role will report initially to the Sr.

Director of Product Design, but may be reassigned at a later time.

Responsibilities

  • Write UX content as well as create and maintain a writing style guide used by the product team.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative testing to inform interface writing decisions.
  • Use UX writing to help to achieve overarching business goals.
  • Create writing and writing guidelines in line with Pluto’s customer-first strategies.
  • Ensure UX written content is in line with brand voice, tone, and style guidelines across Pluto’s connected TV, mobile and web experiences.
  • Establish and manage a centralized repository of user interface written content accessible to the product, design, and engineering teams.

Qualities / Experience

  • At least one year experience working as a full time UX writer collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.

    Entertainment app experience is preferred, but not required.

  • A portfolio of work that shows a range of written content created or contributed to by the candidate.

    Examples showing interaction flows, onboarding or product tours, or interface writing style guides are especially valued.

  • This role requires analytical solution-oriented design thinking.

    Competitive candidates will show examples of how data informs their decision making.

  • A competitive candidate will have excellent knowledge of AP Style, American English spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage…

    as well as the confidence and situational awareness of when to thoughtfully go against these conventions.

  • Driving alignment with cross functional teams is a critical component of this role, so understanding when and how to gather stakeholder input is critical.
